Well-respected communications officer Maura Fitzgerald Downes will leave the Department of Public Health later this month to join McDowell Jewett Communications. Maura first got to know the Connecticut press corps as an aide to the Senate Democrats in the 90s. She has also worked for Senator Richard Blumenthal and private communications firms. She’s a total pro and a great person.
