Shortly before 7 a.m. this morning, state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal announced on WTIC-AM 1080 (Hartford) that he would seek re-election as AG and would not run for Governor in 2010. As of 8:30 am the news was all over the internet on Capitol Watch, CT News Junkie and Connecticut Local Politics….but WTIC didn’t mention the story on either its 8 am or 8:30 am newscasts (we’re not sure about 7 and 7:30 am).
Diane Smith’s absence from the morning show is clearly palpable. How embarrassing for them…
Well, WTIC news staff can only report stories as news if they have read it in the Courant.
Clearly the story wasn’t printed in today’s Courant (the old-fashioned paper version) and so WTIC wouldn’t know it as news.
Yeah, that was strange! I was listening to their news on the way in, wondering if I’d hallucinated the whole thing.
