Congratulations to the student journalists of the University of New Haven on winning several awards for their work at the independently run school paper – the Charger Bulletin.

The New Haven Register reports:

The Charger Bulletin won a first place award for college newspapers from the American Scholastic Press Association, the university said in a news release. The paper received a perfect score in the creativity category and nearly perfect scores in the layout and editing categories. It also received the award for Outstanding Section in sports.

One of The Charger Bulletin’s writers, senior Samantha Reposa, was awarded a regional Mark of Excellence Award for Feature Photography from the Society of Professional Journalists, or SPJ. Her feature photo was of a #MeToo march in Washington, D.C. The photo was also a finalist for a national award.

The SPJ also named The Charger Bulletin’s editor, senior Glenn Rohrbacker, a finalist in the sports category for a volleyball photo.
