    The decision by Tribune Publishing, including the Hartford Courant, to announce plans to end newspaper endorsements of candidates in major races is meeting with an expected round of criticism.

    As we might have predicted, regardless of what you think of the relevance of the newspaper endorsements, the company’s attempt to spin the decision as good for democracy isn’t flying or landing.
