Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim launched an astonishing assault against ESPN college basketball reporter Andy Katz Wednesday night at a press conference after Syracuse was upset by Connecticut.
Katz (right) asked a question, and Boeheim responded: “I’ll answer anyone’s question but yours because you’re an idiot and really a disloyal person.”
The AwfulAnnouncing.com blog reports that Katz recently reported details of a player who was ruled ineligible for the game because of academic problems. The coach assumed the details were off the record.
Katz’s response? “Last time I checked, I wasn’t getting paid by Syracuse U,” he said.
Another example of how the media has become completely self-absorbed with themselves and each other. Cover the game…and it was a great one…that is what people care about….reporters and coaches have been going ’round and ’round for years…it was always part of the business. Coaches can’t trust the Twitter-obsessed media anymore

Mike, the bottom line is you and the media relation guys up there are cocky and arrogant . You should thank us for covering you, even in a season that wont see any post season play. If you cant adapt to the “Twitter-Obsessed” reporters, get out of the game.
It is always a weenie like you that never played sports that have your possition.
With all going on the world, who the hell cares about any of this? Give me a break. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for even caring about this for more than 5 seconds. Shame on you.
