NPR Is Talking

In what some might describe as a “Jerry Maguire Manifesto,” Uri Berliner, the senior business editor at NPR, has published a lengthy article about problems he sees with NPR and how the network is losing its audience.

Essentially, Berliner argues the network has taken sides in the Trump era and is therefore ignoring opposing points of view that may have validity. Berliner also argues an over emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion is – ironically perhaps – shutting out a large part of the audience and preventing the network from fully exploring a range of issues.

The Berliner opinion article was published by the Free Press.

Not surprisingly, his bosses at NPR disagree and the job of presenting both sides fell to media reporter David Folkenflik.
