Brian Williams. The defrocked former anchor of NBC Nightly News returns to the air September 22nd as MSNBC’s breaking news reporter. It is still unclear whether he of the forlorn countenance will assume some greater role at the cable network like anchoring an hour long primetime newscast. There’s been chatter about him anchoring the 6p.m. hour between Chuck Todd’s new daily politics show and Hardball(or as they call it at the BBC “Hardtalk”). Williams return to the air on the 22nd is timed to coincide with the Pope’s trip to the U.S.

Pat Fili-Krushel. The former chair of NBC News is leaving the network after she was pushed into a corporate role to allow for the return of Andy Lack. She is seen as one of the victims of the Williams matter and general low morale inside NBC News.

David Gregory. The former NBC White House correspondent and host of Meet the Press has returned to the spotlight after a self imposed exile with a new book on faith. One of his first appearances this week came on CBS This Morning where he was questioned by his former NBC News colleague Norah O’Donnell and Gayle King. Among other things he spoke about his unceremonious departure from Meet and how the network was trying to avoid anotherAnn Curry moment.”

Maria Stephanos. The popular Boston anchor is leaving Fox 25 after 18 years on the air there. She has decided to pursue a new career path.

CNN. The news network currently over-promoting next week’s Republican presidential debate made itself the news Thursday by turning the selection of debate participants into a news story. The headline: Carly Fiorina, after impressing many in the first GOP debate on Fox last month, has jumped up in the standings and will be on the main stage.

Tim Lammers. The Fox CT morningĀ anchor is engaged. He proposed to his girlfriend Kerri Lesiak over the weekend. They plan to get married next year in Connecticut. They met at channel 61.

Sue Haigh. The AP’s Connecticut Capitol bureau chief celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary this week. Congratulations Sue!
