Wall Street and the media world are watching closely the rumors and reports about a major merger deal between Nexstar and Tegna. The first reports came out last week suggesting Nexstar is close to a deal to buyout Tegna.

This transaction could have ramifications in Connecticut where Nexstar owns properties including WTNH News 8 and Tegna owns properties including WTIC Fox 61.

Meanwhile, Gray Television, the owner of WFSB in Hartford has agreed to buy ten stations from the Allen Media Group.

And seemingly under the radar, the controversial merger between Paramount and Skydance Media was completed last week, less than a month after the FCC gave final approval.
