As might have been predicted by many, Deni Kamper has been elevated to communications director for U.S. Senator Chris Murphy after serving as his deputy communications director.
Previously she has worked for the House Oversight Committee and for Congresswoman Cori Bush. Laurel readers may remember that she was part of a two person news crew from WLKY in Louisville, Kentucky accosted by a crowd while covering a protest there in 2020 following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The incident was one of many similar confrontations between journalists and protestors that drew national attention.
