As you know, last week, David Collins, a long time columnist for The Day of New London, was separated from the company after a dispute over a column he had written.
Collins sent an email out to a wide audience to tell his side of the story. This weekend, in a rare public rebuke of a former employee, Izaskun Larraneta, the paper’s executive editor, told her side of the story in a published response.
From a public relations perspective, the back and forth illustrates the fundamental truth behind the axiom; You should never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel.
