How the Media Have Changed Since the Rowland Days…

We loved this banter from a recent Mark Pazniokas story in the CT Mirror about Wednesday night’s Republican Prescott Bush Dinner.  Ex-Governor John Rowland was there and apparently noticed the growing phenomenon of “one man bands” (reporters shooting their video or still photos, photographers functioning as reporters). We can assume he was talking to Mark…

When a reporter he knew took out a camera, Rowland smiled. He hadn’t seen the reporter shoot photos before. “You’re taking your own pictures now?” he said, his grin growing wider. “How the mighty have fallen.”

  1. In 1975 I worked in the news department of WUTR-TV in Utica, New York.
We did two, 30 minute newscasts with 3 photographers and a 6 person news department. Frequently reporters had to function as one man bands. I will never forget the friendly taunts we received from competing stations that labeled our operation as “Mickey Mouse.”

Funny how things have come full circle.

  2. Sorry, Bruce. I didn’t mean you, personally, had faleln for Beck’s orchestrated move. This reality of the MIC is so obvious that a portion of the truth must be used for him to be believable in the mind of sheep. But what is his final solution he eludes to? Privatizing the military (which only will GROW it even more). He is a corporatist shill who is being directed to use the 10% of truth he is forced to acknowledge, but only to mislead us 90% the wrong direction.Anyone who believes Beck to be a patriot or that he even cares about America or the Constitution, is a silly, blind nincompoop with no thinking ability.Sorry. Truth.
