Hackett Retires

Ray Hackett, the editorial page editor of the Norwich Bulletin is retiring April 26th. As he told the staff in a memo to the newsroom, that Sunday happens to be his 65th birthday.

For those who didn’t know, Ray began his journalism career in radio, including work with American Forces Radio and TV in southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star.

From his note to staff:

It has been a grand journey and I feel truly blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity to have been part of and work with so many talented professionals in this amazing industry.

My immediate plans are simple: I’m going to the beach armed with a stack of good books to read and be a beach bum for the summer.
Good luck Ray.
