Although he did not take the direct route, former Hartford Courant reporter, columnist and editor Rick Green is taking the well worn path of former Courant employees now calling Hearst CT Media home.
Green will join Hearst as managing editor of state news beginning May 15. At the same time Hearst has announced Mike Pignataro will take over as managing editor for local news.
Since 2022, after leaving the Courant, Green has been managing editor at News 8 in New Haven.
Sources with direct knowledge of Hearst’s plans also inform The Laurel that the chain’s Hartford operations are expanding further although exact details are not known.
