WCBS radio reporter Fran Schneidau is retiring.

Schneidau has been with the station for 39 years and before that worked at WICC in Bridgeport. She was responsible primarily for covering Connecticut and has covered every Connecticut governor since Thomas Meskill.

WCBS happens to be marking its 50th year as an all news station this year and as part of that anchor Wayne Cabot is hosting a podcast looking back on the station’s history. This week Cabot and WCBS anchor Paul Murnane(an alum of WELI and WKSS) interviewed Schneidau about her career at WCBS.

Governor Malloy is a Schneidau fan and has proclaimed today Fran Schniedau day in Connecticut.
