The Laurel doesn’t report on every award bestowed upon Connecticut journalists but the duPont is a big deal. Congratulations to NBC CT on winning one for its coverage of crumbling foundations. A major shout-out to former NBC CT reporter George Colli who broke the initial stories before he left for Washington and the Cox Media D.C. Bureau. In July 2015, Colli and the “Troubleshooters” reported on dozens of homeowners in Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties who discovered their concrete foundations were deteriorating.
