Long-time sports writer and columnist Frank Deford of Westport has signed off with his final commentary for NPR.
Deford stepped partially away from the microphone last year, but on Wednesday delivered his last “homily.” According to NPR, Deford has written over 1,600 commentaries in the last 37 years.
Deford is perhaps best known for his long form sports writing for Sports Illustrated.
