In recent years there have been regular reports from a number of media sources claiming that Gayle King(WFSB) will soon be ousted at CBS News. All those reports have proven false.
But a new report in Variety carries a higher level of credibility given its sourcing and the state of affairs at CBS, which is now under new ownership. Variety is reporting King’s tenure as the lead host of CBS Mornings is likely to come to an end next year. Her contract expires in May. Multiple sources tell Variety that negotiations are underway and it is possible King will stay with the network and produce her own shows.
