Cheer Up, You Could Be A… Lumberjack?

A Worst Jobs of 2012 list is out….and featured in the top ten are “newspaper reporter” and “broadcaster”. This is the first time since CareerCast began the list that these two journalism jobs have cracked the top ten.  The survey factored in physical labor, declining job opportunities, a poor work environment and high stress to come up with the list.

As the digital world continues to take over and provide on-demand information, the need for print newspapers and daily newscasts is diminishing. To be sure, both jobs once seemed glamorous, but on-the-job stress, declining job opportunities and income levels are what landed them on our Worst Jobs list.

At the top of the list — or the bottom — was being a lumberjack.

  1. sure it depressing to know this is the truth. The hardest people it effects is the older generation. They continue to buy the newspapers and watch TV for their information to get the news. The good and back effect of Technology is proving again if you feel safe in your job, you may not. If you want to be a robot and and feel like you dont care well that is a great human being to be. Its a God darn shame this is happening.
