During this morning’s newscast Scot Haney, weatherman for WFSB, scooped up what he believed to be Grape Nuts off the newsroom floor. Unfortunately for him, Grape Nuts and cat vomit share similar characteristics.

This is beyond disgusting, but most alarming is how the station has been promoting this story on air and on Facebook since it happened. Its insulting to all of our intelligence and I refuse to allow my family to be subjected to it during breakfast or dinner hour. Bye Bye Ch. 3 Hello Ch. 30.

Haney’s antics are a nothing short of an indictment of newsroom management’s inability to maintain control of talent. That is absolutely inexcusable behavior and one that reflects badly not just on Haney but his bosses who have lost control. This is worse than what Geoff Fox did and he lost his job over it. WFSB is being mocked not just locally but nationally. As they should be.
The last post makes it sound like WFSB management is against the things he does. From watching their non-stop coverage of the puke tasting it is pretty apparent they like it. Coming in November watch for NBC30 to be having their anchors eat things off the floor, too.
