The U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London is “always ready” to host the president of the United States at its annual May graduation ceremony.
President Biden has picked New London for his first military academy graduation speech as president. Traditionally, the president rotates appearances at military academies throughout his or her term in office.* The announcement was made Monday:

*Although the United States has never had a woman president, we’ve noticed the use of his/her when referring to presidents ever since 2016. Perhaps it is in recognition that it’s possible and it feels close.
