On June 10, Quinnipiac University presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to ABC News Correspondent Barbara Walters. The award was presented at the Metropolitan Club in New York at the University’s annual Fred Friendly First Amendment Award Luncheon, named for the former CBS news president and pioneer of television journalism.

Says Lee Kamlet, dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac, “[Walters] epitomizes the characteristics we want our students to develop: an endless curiosity, the pursuit of knowledge and truth.” This is the second time that the award has been presented.
