Starting today, it’s the same anchors on NBC 30 but they’re appearing at different times. Morning co-anchor Brad Drazen is moving to the 5 & 5:30 pm newscasts which he will anchor with Lisa Carberg; he will also report at 11. Todd Piro will co-anchor the mornings with Kerri-Lee Mayland. Gerry Brooks and Keisha Grant will co-anchor the 6 & 11 pm news.
I fortunately like all of the NBCConnecticut anchors, but was caught off guard by this change. I really like the job Jeff Stoecker does when he fills in for Gerry and think I would have preferred that.

I agree Jeff would of been a better choice , I also like Shirley Chan she is way better than Keri-Lee .
Brad has been with NBC CT for a very long time and deserves this promotion. I am curious as to why Shirley Chan did not get the morning co-anchor spot. Many markets have two females co-hosting morning shows.

Dropping ratings on the morning show for years…. reporting at 11- demotion
Anchoring 5-6pm then reporting at 11pm is a promotion. Its the exact shift that Logan Byrnes was ‘promoted to’ before he left NBC 30 years back
if anyone got a demotion it’s Lisa Carberg losing the 6pm show.

Brad seems like like a really nice guy in person, but him, Carberg, Mayland, and Prio are dead weight to NBC 30. Brooks and Grant are rightfully to station’s two best and I agree with everyone above that Jeff and Shirley should be used in roles instead. Brad can’t read a teleprompter, Mayland is a space cadet, Carberg is just there to fullfil “white nightitme female anchor role” and Piro you cloud see through a mile away. I’m sure all these people are nice but management has some loyalty issues it needs to get over if they want to grow ratings with the proper talent. If Brooks retires and Grant is hired away, 30 is good as dead right now.
When Brooks retires, Jeff should fill the main anchor role. Todd and Maryland are going to be a good duo. I would put Hanrahan in Masons spot and get Maggie Slyz who is filling in at Fox for traffic.
