To paraphrase Chevy Chase, “Roger Ailes is still dead.”

Following Ailes’ unexpected death last week, the news media seemed caught between whether to praise him for his lifetime of accomplishment in television or condemn him for the culture he fostered at Fox News. A culture exposed to the world in a lawsuit filed last year by former Fox host Gretchen Carlson of Greenwich.

In Tuesday’s New York Times, former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, had no trouble calling it as she sees it. In an op-ed article, Lewinsky accused Ailes of creating a “culture of exploitation” for the sake of clicks and ratings. She hopes that culture died with him.
