Quinnipiac University’s dean of communications is the new CEO and president of Connecticut Public (CPTV & WNPR). Mark Contreras succeeds longtime CEO Jerry Franklin who held the job for more than 30 years. It was an era which saw Connecticut Public Broadcasting give birth to Barney, televise UConn Women’s Basketball, and shift WNPR away from classical music to its current information/news/talk format.
