The President, a Monkey and Freedom of the Press

There has been much dialogue within the past few days surrounding the NY Post Cartoon that some have interpreted as comparing President Obama to a violent chimpanzee.

Stan Simpson writes that the paper has a responsibility to ‘not let racially derogatory commentary, posing as satire, appear on its pages.’ The NY Post has defended the cartoon.

Who would have thought that a chimpanzee attack would: 1) occur in Stamford, Connecticut; 2) prompt a free speech/press debate; 3) somehow involve President Obama?
