As a speech writer, tradition dictates that you are only supposed to admit to “helping” your principle write his or her speech. You are never supposed to take credit for the work in its entirety.

But there are some exceptions. One of the exceptions is when it is time to look for the next job.

So, with the Obama administration winding down, Michelle Obama’s speechwriter was allowed to take at least some credit for the speech the First Lady is still receiving high marks for nearly a week after it was delivered in Philadelphia.

Her name is Sarah Hurwitz and she began as a writer for Hillary Clinton.
