To paraphrase a well-known historical figure, “Well gentlemen, this is my last column. You won’t have Douthat to kick around anymore.”
Over the weekend, New Haven’s own Ross Douthat published his final column for The New York Times. As we reported two weeks ago, he has been chosen to join the CBS program 60 Minutes as a correspondent.
As he begins his new position, there are many in the television news business who have their doubts. If they are right, we hope he hasn’t burned any bridges at the Times.
