We don’t usually post on the vacations of former Connecticut reporters, but this one is framed as a means of improving productivity in the work place, so it feels like we are passing on the information for the betterment of all.
Former WTNH reporter and University of New Haven communications aide Renee Chmiel posted on social media:
“Did you know that more than half of all employees don’t use all their vacation time each year? Taking time off can actually help employees excel, enabling them to feel more rested and less burned out.
I ended the last fiscal year and started the new one by making myself a better employee! 🙂 I did so by taking a trip to the place I most wanted to visit: Egypt. From Cairo to a Nubian village near Aswan, it was wonderful to connect with so many kind and welcoming people while exploring some beautiful, historic places. Truly restorative!”
Chmiel is currently a public information officer with the City of San Diego.
