AJC Going All Digital

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, one of the nation’s most influential legacy daily newspapers has announced it is going all digital by the end of the year.

The decision is considered risky, because although print readership has been dropping rapidly for years, it still provides a reliable base of revenue for most papers. Analysts say the Journal-Constitution is positioned well financially to withstand any short term losses that come as a result of this move.

Many papers have cut back print to a few times a week or Sundays only, but the AJC is the biggest daily to make a full transition all at once. The design of the AJC website is already more digital only friendly than most.
