From time to time in the history of fictional television there have been series centered around journalism. The newsroom of Mary Tyler Moore’s WJM, later Lou Grant, Les Nessman’s WKRP, and Newsradio, come to mind.
Now Peacock has announced a new entry in the genre. Yet to be titled, the show is being produced by some of the same people who adapted The Office for the U.S. market. It will be shot in mockumentary style and be centered at a small mid-western paper struggling to stay alive by using volunteer reporters. Production starts in July.
